Sol AI vs SolarEdge Monitoring Platform
The SolarEdge Monitoring Platform is what SolarEdge gives installers to watch their SolarEdge sites: one dashboard for all their installations, data down to each panel's power optimizer, and alerts at module, string and system level. It is excellent at that. Sol AI is for the installer or O&M company whose fleet is SolarEdge plus other brands, and who wants one list each morning ranked by what each problem is costing.
| SolarEdge Monitoring Platform | Sol AI | |
|---|---|---|
| Brands covered | SolarEdge sites | 18 brands in one view, SolarEdge and Enphase among them |
| Data depth | Module-level and inverter-level data from the power optimizers on each panel | Site and string level, compared against what each should have made in that day's weather |
| Alerts | Alerts at module, string and system level | Every problem priced in dollars a day and ranked, most expensive first |
| Remote actions | Some issues can be handled with remote diagnostics | Read-only. Sol AI never changes a setting on the equipment |
| API | Monitoring API V1 is due to be retired on 1 November 2026, replaced by SolarEdge ONE for Developers | Not needed by you — Sol AI handles the connection to each maker |

Where SolarEdge's platform wins
Panel-level detail from the manufacturer. Because every panel on a SolarEdge system has its own optimizer, SolarEdge can show and alert on a single module, which a fleet-level view across brands will not match. It is first-party, so there is no integration to break, and installers can resolve some issues remotely. For commercial sites SolarEdge also has SolarEdge ONE for C&I. If your fleet is all SolarEdge, its own tools cover most of what you need.
Who should choose SolarEdge Monitoring Platform
Stay with SolarEdge's own platform alone if your fleet is all SolarEdge and module-level alerts are the view you need.
Who should choose Sol AI
Add Sol AI if your fleet mixes SolarEdge with other brands, if you want problems ranked by money rather than by alert, or if you want each repair confirmed by the site's own production before the case is closed.
FAQ
Questions, answered
Is the SolarEdge Monitoring API being retired?
Yes. SolarEdge's developer documentation says the Monitoring API V1 will be deprecated on 1 November 2026, with the V2 API on the SolarEdge ONE for Developers platform taking over. Anyone reading SolarEdge data through V1 needs to move before then.
Can I see SolarEdge and other inverter brands on one dashboard?
Not in SolarEdge's own platform, which shows SolarEdge sites. Sol AI by Modular Intelligence reads each maker's cloud read-only and puts SolarEdge alongside the other supported brands in one ranked list, with each problem priced in dollars a day. See all supported brands →
